At Home

This is what I consider as The One Computer - slightly better equipped and sometimes used for more exotic activities than typing work related stuff! Now let's see what it is made of:

Processor
Athlon XP 2400+, underclocked @1500MHz with 133MHz Front-Side Bus
Memory
512 MBytes of DDR-SDRAM in a single module in synchron with processor's FSB
Motherboard
Asus A7S333 - although became obsolete within a year of my purchase, it works remarkably well since the spring of 2003
Graphics Card
A Hercules 3D Prophet II MX (AGP 4x) with an NVidia GeForce 2 MX chipset - salvaged from the old PC of my boss
Hard Drives
Two, a 40GB Western Digital(becoming a little bit too noisy, mainly used for storing stuff) and a 80GB Maxtor, both simple PATA drives in UDMA5 mode.
Optical Drive
Pioneer DVR-109 - officially supports 16x DVD burning but I never used at more than 4x
Monitor
GNR VL770FS - simple 17'' CRT used 1024x768@85Hz. I could really use 1200x1024 but I should get a new monitor for that - so I am waiting for even lower prices on LCDs and when unsatisfied, I remember our first 14'' VGA monitor...:)
Keyboard and mouse
Labtec Ultra Flat Wireless Desktop - optical mouse and a slick looking keyboard, both wireless, for ~25 Euros? the plus: the wireless hub is connceted to the PC through standard PS/2 ports, thus not occupying any USB ports! Sweeet...
Misc
Floppy 3 1/2, I don't remember using it since...?!

Operating Systems, in chronological order:

Win2K
Mandrake Linux 9.2 - 10.1, Mandriva Linux 2006
OpenSuse 10.0
Gentoo
2003-2005, from 2004: in dual-boot mode
2004-2005
2005-2006
2006 - present day

What can I possibly do with this crappy old machine, running Gentoo Linux?!
